In the afternoon of November 15, 2019, the first editorial board meeting of the newly launched Elsevier open-access journal Medicine in Drug Discovery was held at the 3rd floor conference room in the Chinese National Compound Library, chaired by co-editors-in-chief, Drs. Ming-Wei Wang (Professor, The National Center for Drug Screening, Shanghai, China) and Daniel Hoyer (Professor, The University of Melbourne, Melbourne, Australia).
During the meeting, Mr. Chris Hammond, Publishing Director (International Markets, Elsevier), presented appointment certificates to the two co-editors-in-chief as well as editorial board members including Drs. Camilo Colaco (ImmunoBiology, Ltd., Cambridge, U.K.), Weiping Han (Professor, Singapore Bioimaging Consortium, Singapore), Siddhartha Roy (Professor, Bose Institute, Kolkata, India), Shengtao Zhou (Associate Professor, West China Second Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China), Dehua Yang (Managing Editor; Professor, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Juan Xiong (Managing Editor; Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, Shanghai, China).
Dr. Abby Chen (Senior Publisher, Elsevier) and Ms. Angela Yuan (Senior Publishing Content Specialist, Elsevier) reported the development status/publication statistics since the inception of this journal 7 months ago and the preparation update on 4 special issues to be published, respectively. The board member analyzed, discussed and made decisions on topics such as journal mission, board expansion, manuscript sourcing, peer review, quality control and operation improvement for about 3 hours. The meeting was successfully concluded.
