Dr. Ming-Wei Wang attends the International Expert Group Meeting on compound resource management at Bangkok

Between August 17 and 18, 2017, Professor Ming-Wei Wang, Director of the National Center for Drug Screening/Chinese National Compound Library and Dean, School of Pharmacy, Fudan University, attended the International Expert Group Meeting on “System Management of Thailand National Compound Library (Chemical Bank) of Natural Products and Herbal Extracts for Sustainable Uses” at Bangkok. His invited lecture entitled “Establishment, development and application of the Chinese National Compound Library”, which described in detail the goals, functions and achievements of this drug discovery resource platform of China, was followed by four additional talks made by Drs. Hyeon-Kyu Lee (Director of Korea Chemical Bank), Ludger Wessjohann (Director of Compound, Extract and Organism Library at Leibniz Institute of Plant Biochemistry, Germany), Pierfausto Seneci (Consultant, Compound Collection at Institute of Research in Biotechnology and Medicine, Italy) and William Gerwick (Director of Center for Compound Resources, University of California, San Diego, USA). Each of them introduced the experience, expertise and prospect in managing their respective library. Drs. Nares Damrongchai (CEO of Thailand Center of Excellence for Life Sciences), Wanchai De-Eknamkul (Professor, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University)、Supakarn Chamni (Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chulalongkorn University), Chatchai Wattanapiromsakul (Assistant Professor at Prince of Songkla University) and 20 or so experts and scholars from different Thai institutions were present.
