Professor Ming-Wei Wang delivers the “FEI Lecture” at 4th Annual Shanghai iHuman Forum

4th Annual Shanghai iHuman Forum, sponsored by the iHuman Institute, ShanghaiTech University, GPCR Consortium and the Local Shanghai Community, was held in Zhangjiang, Pudong, between November 5 and November 6, 2016. More than three hundred domestic and international scientists, entrepreneurs and postgraduate students participated in the two-day event, including some world scientific leaders such as Professor Kurt Wüthrich, 2002 Nobel Prize laureate in chemistry. Chaired by Dr. Ray Stevens (Director of iHuman Institute and International Adjunct Professor of School of Pharmacy, Fudan University), Professor Ming-Wei Wang (Dean, School of Pharmacy, Fudan University and Director, the National Center for Drug Screening/Chinese National Compound Library) delivered the “FEI Lecture” in the afternoon of November 5. This lecture, entitled “GPCR and me: 15 years’ scientific efforts in Shanghai”, systemically described his long-standing endeavor and experience, since 2001 when Professor Ming-Wei Wang joined the faculty of Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, in structural and functional studies on GPCRs. The persistent efforts and breakthrough discoveries made by Dr. Wang and his research team via extensive collaborations received enthusiastic responses from the audience. During the forum, he also interacted with several senior scientists from Denmark, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland, U.S.A., U.K. and Russia.
