On October 4, 2016, a delegation of Fudan School of Pharmacy, consisting of Professor Ming-Wei Wang (Dean), Associate Professor Yan Li (Assistant Dean) and Associate Professor Xiaoqiang Xiang (Vice Chairman, Department of Clinical Pharmacy and Regulatory Affairs), visited Eshelman School of Pharmacy, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) in U.S.A. In the morning, they interacted, respectively, with Associate Professor Stephen F. Eckel (Associate Dean for Global Engagement), Professor Dhiren R. Thakker (Associate Dean for Entrepreneurial Development), Associate Professor Wendy Cox (Associate Dean for Curricular and Student Affairs) and Ms. Mimi Lewis (Coordinator of Admissions). After lunch, the delegates toured university hospital pharmacy and School of Pharmacy laboratories accompanied by Dr. Eckel. Separate meetings were held with Professor Stephen V. Frye, Associate Professor Jo Ellen Rodgers, Professor Kim Brouwer (Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education), Assistant Professor Roy Hawke (Assistant Dean of Graduate Studies) and Mr. Kevin Fitzgerald from GlaxoSmithKline (Senior Director, Global Regulatory Affairs), to discuss comprehensive bilateral collaborations on professional education, career training, scientific research, resource sharing and personnel exchange. A common understanding was reached. During the visit, Dr. Wang also greeted Professor Leaf Huang and Dr. Sai An, a young scientist from Fudan School of Pharmacy. Professor Robert A. Blouin, Dean of UNC School of Pharmacy, and Dr. Stephen F. Eckel entertained the delegates with a dinner at Chapel Hill city center in the evening.
