Drs. Solomon Nwaka (Executive Director, Nigerian) and Takele Geressu (Technical Officer, Ethiopian) of African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics Innovation hosted by the United Nations Office for Project Service (ANDI/UNOPS) visited the Chinese National Compound Library (CNCL) in the afternoon of July 11, 2016. They were warmly received by Professor Ming-Wei Wang, Director of CNCL, who shared fond memories with Dr. Nwaka of initiation of the three-way collaboration between the National Center for Drug Screening/Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (Chinese Academy of Sciences), Novo Nordisk A/S of Denmark and the World Health Organization (WHO) in March, 2008. When he was an officer of the WHO, Dr. Nwaka toured the construction site of CNCL in April 2009. This old friend of Chinese people highly appreciated the achievements made by CNCL since its inception and expressed that he will make asserted efforts in promoting collaborations between CNCL and African countries in terms of talent training and drug discovery. Before ending their visit, Drs. Nwaka and Geressu chatted with 4 Malaysian interns who are studying at CNCL.
