Dr. Kazuya Kikuchi, recipient of 2016 CAS President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) and Professor of Osaka University (Japan) made an academic visit to Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), the National Center for Drug Screening and the Chinese National Compound Library between May 11 and May 14, 2016. He was warmly received by Professor Ming-Wei Wang and Professor Weiliang Zhu. During the visit, Dr. Kikuchi toured iHuman Institute of ShanghaiTech University and National Center for Protein Science (Shanghai) where he interacted with Drs. Jianjun Cheng, Houchao Tao and Ming Lei. At SIMM, he made several rounds of in-depth exchanges with some senior scientists, key technical staff and graduate students relative to their respective research progresses. He also delivered an invited lecture entitled “Design, synthesis and biological application of chemical probes with tunable chemical switches” there which was well applauded by the audience.
