First research ‘docking exchange’ forum held at CNCL between young scientists from Fudan and SIMM

The first research ‘docking exchange’ forum between 14 young scientists from School of Pharmacy, Fudan University and Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIMM, CAS) was held at the Chinese National Compound Library (CNCL) in the morning of November 18, 2015. This event was chaired by Professor Fajun Nan of SIMM who is also Deputy Director of CNCL. Professor Ming-Wei Wang (Dean of the school, Director of the National Center for Drug Screening and CNCL) and Professor Xun Sun (Vice Dean of the school) were present.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Ming-Wei Wang emphasized the importance of establishing a strategic partnership between Fudan and CAS. He hopes that such an interaction will become a routine among scientists in these two organizations. Thereafter, Professor Xiaoyan Shen, Professor Wei Fu, Associate Professor Bangguo Wei, Professor Cong Li, Associate Professor Lu Zhou, Associate Professor Yan Lu and Professor Xinhua Liu representing Fudan; Professor Jingya Li,  Associate Professor Dehua Yang, Professor Zhaobing Gao, Professor Xin Xie, Professor Fajun Nan, Professor Youhong Hu and Professor Jianmin Yue representing SIMM in turn introduced their respective education background, research area, technical strength and collaboration need. During the course of exchange, the participants enthusiastically interacted, which deepened their understanding on each other’s research interest and technology capability, thereby laying a foundation for future collaborations.
