Accompanied by Guergana Guermanoff (New Zeland Consul General in Shanghai), Mr. Paul Stocks (Deputy Chief Executive of Labor, Science and Enterprise, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Education), Mr. Al Ross (Counselor, Science and Innovation of New Zealand Embassy in Beijing), Ms. Rachel Morton (Minister’s Adviser) and Ms. Maggie Shen (Policy Advisor of New Zealand Consulate General in Shanghai), Honorable Steven Joyce, New Zealand Minister for Economic Development, Innovation, Tertiary Education, Skills and Employment, visited the Chinese National Compound Library (CNCL) in the morning of October 22, 2015. He was warmly received by Drs. Hualiang Jiang (Director, Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences), Yang Ye (Deputy Director), Ming-Wei Wang (CNCL Director), Jianmin Yue (CNCL Deputy Director). A round table discussion was conducted to review the latest progresses made in a bilateral research collaboration project between China and New Zealand. Dr. Dehua Yang, Dr. Jiejie Deng, Ms. Dongying Lu, Ms. Xinchuan Dai and Ms. Yan Zhou who are executing this project, as well as representatives of School of Pharmacy, Fudan University and multiple industrial partners, were present. Professor Peter Shepherd and Mr. Alex Trevarton from the University of Auckland participated in the event.
