In the evening of September 24, 2012, Professor Zhu Chen (Minister of Health) warmly received Drs. Hualiang Jiang, Peter Vogt, Ray Stevens and Ming-Wei Wang in Beijing Hotel. They represent the founding team of the iHuman Center to be established in Shanghai. Following a brief status report by the team members, Minister Chen highly commended the founding mission, development goals and research direction of this international center, and pledged his unreserved support. Professor Saijuan Chen (Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering), Professor Wei He (Director of Science and Education Department of the Ministry of Health) , Mr. Mingzhu Li (Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Health) and Mr. Xiang Li (Personal Assistant to the Minister) were present during the meeting. Prior to the event, Dr. Ming-Wei Wang, as an independent board member, attended the inaugural meeting of the Novo Nordisk Hemophilia Research Fund in China led by Professor Saijuan Chen.
